This print is my second silkscreen print! A four color print using photo emulsion and transparency films.
The composition in this print is very fun and playful. The design was inspired by artist Alexandre Cabanel’s 1863 The Birth of Venus painting. Selene is a heavenly moon goddess with sparkling stars in her hair - a true beauty.
This print was also a big learning experience. I had to do 2 runs of this print because the layers didn't align in the first time & my screen wiggled out of place. I learned to make my lines thicker in the future to save myself some stress. My final keyline layer was difficult to line up because the lines were so thin. Overall, I love this print! I love the colors and the final result. The star details in the hair are my favorite. ♡
